The band, the music... Last Tragedy shrugs convention at every step. Ask a dozen people to describe their sound and you'll get a dozen different answers. Some may tell you it's metal or progressive rock, others may say it's groove based or technical, catchy or obtuse. The only thing they will all agree on is that it‘s damn good. Formed in the shadow of a slaughter house in Greeley, Colorado, not an area known for an open minded outlook or a wealth of creativity, Last Tragedy’s reckless dedication to improvement sets them apart from the majority of bands and musicians not just in their home town, region and state, but anywhere you might look. They never settle and they are never satisfied. So far 2009 has brought the recording of their debut EP ‘IT HAD TO BE DONE’ and their victory in a battle of the bands consisting of nearly 150 bands, winning a short summer tour through the southwest states: New Mexico, Arizona, California and Nevada, with kick off and home coming shows in Colorado. But, in pure Last Tragedy style, they are eyeing well beyond the accomplishments the average band would be wallowing in. A professional sounding EP and mini-tour are just a good start to a band this driven. On the eve of the release of ‘IT HAD TO BE DONE’ and their first tour, the band plans their next steps. The full album, the longer tour, the next album… they will never settle, never rest, never stop.
Last Tragedy is a juggernaut of sound.
